  From FindaGrave: Interred on 8 Oct 1847. On Wednesday evening, the 6th inst. , JOHN ASPINWALL, in the 74th year of his age. The relatives and friends of the family are respectfully invited to attend his funeral, from his late residence, 60 Bleecker Street, on Friday morning at 9 o'clock. New York Daily Herald, 8 Oct 1847 John was the son of John and Rebecca Smith Aspinwall. John and his brother Gilbert formed the shipping merchant business named Gilbert and John Aspinwall. They were importers and owned their own ships, and later dissolved their partnership in 1812. John married Susan Howland on 27 Nov 1803. They had seven children.
