In the 81st year of his age.
During his time in Rochester he had held the offices of selectman, town clerk, town treasurer, justice of the peace. He was a farmer and for a time was engaged in the manufacture of iron.
His will was dated Oct. 2, 1758 mentions all the following:
His wife, Sarah.
Son Edward and grandson, Edward.
Daughter Mehitable and her husband Thomas Winslow. Their son, Edward.
Daughter Sarah and her husband James Whitcomb - grandchildren Seth Lincoln; Mehitable Russell and Rachel Phips. Also, grandson Edward Whitcomb.
Daughter Lydia and her husband James Foster.
Son-in-law Chillingsworth Foster who had been married to his daughter, Mercy, and their five children (names not listed).
Deceased daughter Thankful's children: Edward, Parnel, Thankful and Zerviah Hammond. Also, son-in-law Josephus Hammond.
