      Edwin Cesar Malan Hall, B.A. 1880 Yale grad., was the son of Eli Edwin Hall (B A. Illinois College 1838; graduate Yale Divinity School 1841; LLB Yale 1874) & Cecile Alexandrina (Malan) Hall. Yale relatives include his grandfather, Eli Hall, M D Hon 1841.

      Edwin attended New York Homeopathic Medical College 1881-83 (M D 1883) and assistant in chemistry 1883-84, engaged in practice of medicine in New Haven since 1886, health officer East Haven 1904-30, visiting physician Grace Hospital 1891-1939, physician Home for the Friendless (now the Mary Wade Home), New Haven, 1887-96, was the first homeopath appointed to any public or private institution in the state, an incorporator in 1900 and chief medical director Fraternal Benefit League (later merged with the American Insurance Union), secretary Midwifery State Examining Board 1913-35; director Grace Hospital, member Conn. Homeopathic Medical Examining Board 1899-1935 (secretary 1905-35), Conn. Homeopathic Medical Society (president 1895-96), Masonic order, and Grand Ave. Congregational Church, New Haven.

      Married January 26, 1887, in New Haven, Helen Lovisa Rice, daughter of Joel Tuttle & Mary Jane (Rowe) Rice. Mrs Hall died November 1, 1938.
