He starts showing up on the CA Great Registers in 1892, and each time he registers, it's at the address of 1409 Grove, Alameda, CA (the registration office). On the 1900 census in Oakland, CA, he is listed as living with his two children, Myra (10, b 4/2/1890 in Alameda (city), CA) and Herbert, 7, b 11/5/1893 in Washington, DC). It lists Frederick as widowed, with two children born to him and two still living. It lists his parents as both also being born in Maine, he's working as a lawyer, and that his wife was born in District of Columbia. On the 1910 census in SF, he is listed as a lodger with his two kids, Myra N and Herbert E, but the kids are listed as "currently traveling in Europe". He is still listed as a lawyer. By the 1920 census in Piedmont, Alameda County, CA, he is still working as a lawyer and he is living with his son, Herbert E (26); his wife, Susan G (25); and their daughter, Myra M (age 14 months).
