  From FindaGrave: Caroline Amelia Hollister Millard was born to Dr. Isaac Treat Hollister and Ellen C. Chapin Jan 22, 1848 in Lansing, Michigan on 7 Oaks farm, the family home. She was the youngest of 5 children; an adopted older sister Mary, brothers; Oliver Chapin, Charles Edward, & Ralph Heman Hollister. She was an 1875 graduate of Michigan Agricultural College and practiced medicine from the time she came to San Francisco in 1882 until her husband's death in 1913. She married Jerome Millard (a family friend) on Mar 9, 1882 in Laingsburg, Michigan. They raised a family of 6 children; Oliver Jerome Millard, & Sylvester "Mike" Millard, Diadema Millard, Mary Frances Millard, Caroline Agnes Millard & Ellen Ellis-Millard.
