  • Notes
    • From FindaGrave:

Jerome Millard was the oldest son of Samuel Foster Millard & Diadema Frederick.

He came to California from Michigan about 1852, working in the mines, and building the railroad. This is where he learned Chinese proficiently enough to continue a career in translating for the courts, not only in San Francsico but throughout the state. He was a man of great trust and admiration with the Chinese until his death in 1913.

He married Dr.Caroline Amelia Hollister in Michigan on March 9, 1882. They raised a family of 6 children; Oliver Jerome Millard, & Sylvester "Mike" Millard, Diadema Millard, Mary Frances Millard, Caroline Agnes Millard & Ellen Ellis-Millard.
