      George was the son of Giles Lawton and his second wife, Mary Lawton, grandson of Adam Lawton and Martha Slocum, John Lawton and Abigail Abbott.

      He was the husband of Abigail Hall, the daughter of George Hall and Charity Fish. They were married after 1764 and had the following children:
