      "Samuel Cook came to New Haven in 1663, m Hope, daughter of Edward Parker of New Haven, May 2, 1667. They went to Wallingford in April, 1670, with the first plant-ers. He was, perhaps, the first and only shoemaker and tanner of leather in the place.

      After the decease of his wife Hope, he married Mary ___ in about 1690. After she died 4 September 1694 he married (3) Mary (Mallory) Roberts on 14 July 1696 at Wallingford.

      Samuel Cook was regarded as a very good man by his friends and neighbors, and was frequently called to fill offices of responsibility and trust in the village, and in the church of which he was a member. He died March, 1703, leaving an estate of £340. His widow married Jeremiah How, sen., April 9, 1705."

      Samuel had 15 children. He removed to Wallingford, CT. in 1673. Admitted a freeman 1669. His will (1703) mentions twelve children.

      Samuel married (1) Hope Parker daughter of Edward Parker and Elizabeth Wood about 1667 in New Haven, Conn.. Hope was born on 26 Apr 1650 in Haven, Conn.. She died before 1690.

      They had the following children:

      M i. Samuel Cook was born on 3 March 1667/68 at New Haven. He died 18 September 1725 at Wallingford.

      M ii. John Cook was born 3 December 1669 at New Haven and died 30 April 1739 at Wallingford.

      F iii. Hannah Cook was born 3 March 1671 at Wallingford and died before her father's will in 1703.

      M iv. Isaac Cook was born 10 March 1673 at Wallingford and died one month later on 7 April.

      F v. Mary Cook was born 23 April 1675 at Wallingford and died after 1722.

      F vi. Elizabeth Cook was born 22 August 1677 at Wallingford and died before her father's will in 1703.

      F vii. Judith Cook was born 29 February 1679 at Wallingford and died there 20 March 1708.

      M viii. Isaac Cook was born 10 January 1681 at Wallingford and died there 1 February 1712.

      M ix. Joseph Cook was born 25 February 1683 at Wallingford and died at Goshen, CT 7 November 1764.

      F x. Hope Cook was born 27 September 1686 at Wallingford and died there 30 January 1731.

      Samuel married (2) Mary ____ about 1690. Mary was born about 1656. She died 4 September 1695 (Vital Records). They had two children.

      M xi. Israel Cook was born 8 May 1692 at Wallingford and died about 1741 in Vermont.

      F xii. Mehitable Cook (named Mabel in Samuel's will) was born 30 June 1694 at Wallingford and died April 1732 at Cheshire, New Haven, CT.

      Samuel married (3) Mary (Mallory) Roberts on 14 Jul 1696 in Wallingford, Conn.. Mary Mallory was born 28 November 1656 at New Haven.

      Mary was known as the widow Roberts. Her first husband Eli Roberts had died in June of 1693 at New Haven. She had 7 living children and Samuel had about ten. Then they had three children together.
