      Daughter of John and Elizabeth (Rice) Coffin. Married 28 May 1838 to the Rev. Nathaniel Hall (1805 - 1875) at Boston, Mass. Four children.

      Prior to her marriage, she was educated at Miss Pemberton's school, Mr. William B. Fowle's Monitorial school and under the instruction of Miss Dorothea L. Dix, the well-known philanthropist, who taught a private school in Dorchester, MA. Miss Coffin was also for a time an assistant teacher at that school.
