  From FindaGrave: His parents were possibly Nathaniel Hall and Mercy (Crowell?) Hall of Ashfield. A Mercy Crowell, daughter of Aaron Crowell and Priscilla (Smith) Crowell, was born on April 21,1757, and she married Nathaniel Hall on February 1, 1787 at Ashfield,MA. He is found in the 1850 Hawley census along with wife Jerusha and (sister?) Elizabeth Hall. A Ziba Allen is also in the household, aged 4. He is found in the 1860 census for Hawley along with (brother?) Nathaniel Hall aged 40 and Allan Z (Ziba?) Hall aged 14. He is found in the Hawley 1870 census aged 76 living in the household of Roswell and Mary E Sears.
