      age 71 yrs

      Son of David and Thankful Hall.

      His early life was spent on the family farm, after which he became a Yankee peddler. Then for several years he had a dry goods and grocery store in Wallingford. In 1843 he went into the wooden screw manufacturing business in company with Walter Martin. After the business failed he formed a partnership with William Elton under the name Hall, Elton & Co., to manufacture German silverware. He was active in the Baptist Church.

      He married 1st, Lois Twiss of Meriden, 2nd, Fanny Silliman Ives of Meriden and 3rd, Clarissa Cooke of Wallingford. He had seven children.
