Cyrus Pitt Grosvenor, D.D., LL.D., formerly president of New York Central College. He was a graduate of Dartmouth, and Princeton Theological Seminary, and a man of great literary attainments, especially in mathematical science. He is also well real in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek. His discovery lately of a new principle by which the quadrature of the circle is obtained and demonstrated has attracted great interest. I am under special obligations to Mrs. Grosvenor for a history of her father and his family. Her last was dated at Albion, Ill.
