    • From FindaGrave:

      Dr. Hale's parents were:

      Jonathan Hale 1702-1768
      Susannah Tuttle 1702-1778

Dr. John Hale came to Hollis as a physician in 1755 at the age of 24. He was a very ambitious young man and besides becoming a General Surgeon for the New Hampshire First Regiment during the Revolutionary War, he served earlier as doctor for the troops of Peter Powers during the French and Indian War in 1757.

He married Elizabeth Hall about 1755.

He served as Selectman and was a Representative to the General Court in the 1760's. He served as a Hollis physician until his death in 1791. He resided at 71 Pepperell Road in a two story house with a well which has since been pulled down. The site of the first house is marked by a lilac bush. His son Dr. William Hale also lived in this house.
