AUGUSTA - Arthur L. Hall, 74, of Gray Birch Drive, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at his home following a long illness.
He was born in Blue Hill on May 24, 1935, a son of the late Dana and Estelle (Curtis) Hall.
Arthur graduated with the class of 1953 from Gardiner Area High School, going into the armed forces shortly afterwards. He spent 12 years in the Air Force and the Army, serving during both the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Mr. Hall was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Hope Hall; and a brother, Robert Hall.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Reba (Emery) Hall, of Augusta; three sons, Dr. Kevin Hall and his wife, Mary, of West Milford, N.J., E. Denis Lovely and his wife, Janet, of Calais, and William Lovely and his wife, Anette, of Gardiner; two daughters, Vonnie J. Coron of Winthrop and V. Sue Young and her husband, John, of Augusta; a brother, George Hall and his wife, Phyllis, of Pittston and New Port Richie, Fla.; his former wife, Barbara Beverly Hall; 11 grandchildren, Sean Hall, Nicole Thomas, Nichelle Scammon, Noelle Coron, Johnathan Coron, Miranda Young, Jenifer Young, Kate Price, Rick Price, Alissa Lovely and Jennifer Wade; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
At his request, there will be no public visiting hours or funeral service. Burial will be held at Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon Road, Augusta, at a later date.
