JOSEPH2 FAUNCE (John1), born in Plymouth, Mass., 14 May 1653, died there 18 Jan. 1728. He married there, 3 Jan. 1678, JUDITH RICKARD, daughter of Giles and Hannah (Dunham) Rickard. Giles Rickard's parents were Giles (1597-1684) and Judith Rickard of Plymouth. Giles came to Plymouth in 1635. Hannah (Dunham) Rickard's parents were John (1588-1688) and Abigail (Wood) Dunham. John Dunham was a deputy of the Plymouth General Court, 1639-54; a member of the Council of War, and Deacon of the church. Page 769 Joseph Faunce was elected Town Surveyor 25 May 1691. He was at the Plymouth meeting 4 May 1676, voted 30 pounds for soldiering, and he was in the South Military Company which was formed in 1699.
