He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1938 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW. He was awarded the Knight Commander, Order of St. Gregory the Great. He was awarded the Knight of Honour and Devotion, Sovereign Military Order of Malta.

      He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Leslie, of Glaslough, co. Monaghan [U.K., 1876] on 13 August 1971.
