    • Gladys owned a set of World Book Encyclopedia's printed in 1923. On the inside front and back covers she wrote "important" family information.

      The following is what she wrote about her wedding day.

      Gladys A. Gray > Walter G. Hall
      were married May 5th 1927. Rachel P. Gray and Eston C. Fresh stood up with us. This was Thursday and it was a rainy day. A big Chivaree was that night. Gladys was dressed in Blue Flat Crepe trimmed in grey, grey slippers and hose. Blue coat trimmed in grey fur and blue hat. Walter was dressed in Blue serge and had a grey hat. Rachel was dressed in pink flat cape trimmed in tan, tan hose and black patent slippers trimmed in tan. Tan hat and wore Mabel's grey coat. Eston had a blue shirt.

      May 7th 1927, on Saturday night a shower was given at the home of Mr. & Mrs. David Gray. There was a large crowd there. Ice cream & cake were served.
      There were about 150 people present there at the shower. It was a nice night but in the night was a large storm & rain.

      According to Walter and Gladys' family bible their marriage accured at the Kent Parsonage and the services were preformed by Charles C. Brown.
      Gladys also writes: Moved from farm to Honover Dec. 23rd. 1970.
      Lightening struck our house Aug. 18, 1960
      At age 35 no more children. 3 yrs. after W.W. (Walter Wayne) was born. Helen believes she is indicating when she went thru menapose.

  • Notes
    • In Gladys and Walter Hall family bible Gladys writes about her son Walter:
      Walter W. Hall operated on for Ruptured Disc. March 23, 1974 Came home from hospital April 3rd.

      April 3, 1974 a tornado hit Hanover, Madison and several other places did so much damage.

      From the funeral card of Walter Wayne's service:

      I'm Free

      Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
      I'm following the path God laid for me.
      I took His hand when I heard Him Call;
      I turned my back and left it all.

      I couldn't stay another day,
      To laugh, to love, to work or play.
      Tasks left undone, must stay that way;
      I found that peace at close of day.

      If my parting has left a void,
      Then fill it with remembered joy.
      A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss;
      Ah, yes, these things, I too will miss.

      Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
      I wish you sunshine for tomorrow.
      my life's been full, I savored much;
      Good fiends, good times,
      A loved one's touch.

      Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
      Don't lengthen it with undue grief.
      Lift up your heart and share with me.
      God wanted me now, He set me free.

      In Memory of
