  • Notes
    • Susan Hall's marriage to Thompson Taft was her third marriage according to the Mendon, MA Vital Records. Mendon, MA Vital Records also show her father as S-A-T-O-N which could be due to the flamboyant penmanship of the clerk at the time. This
marriage was the second for Thompson Taft.

Susan Taft was the daughter of Lawton and Olive (Hawkins) Walden. She was married three times:

First Marriage was to Elias Stone of Warwick, RI. He died sometime before 1855 and they had one son, Edmon L., born 1848.

Second Marriage was to Samuel Judson Hall of Uxbridge, MA on 28 Nov 1858 in Uxbridge, MA. He served with the 25th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War, was wounded on 8 feb 1862 at the Battle of Roanoke Island, NC abd died of those injuries on 5 Mar 1862. He was buried in New Bern National Cemetery, New Bern, NC.

Third Marriage was to Thompson Taft, Jr. of Mendon, MA on 15 Mar 1870 in Mendon, MA.

Her parent's graves are right in front of the Thompson Taft Plot.
