    • Following 67 full years of life, Edward A. Hall passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 8, 2010, in Suisun City, surrounded by his family.

Ed was born on Jan. 25, 1943, in Arbuckle and lived in Oroville for the first 17 years of his life. Following high school, he chose to serve his country, enlisting in the U.S. Navy. During his twenty years of service, Ed served on board the USS Enterprise during the Cuban Missile Crisis, served nine tours in Vietnam, and was a drill sergeant at the Recruit Training Center San Diego. He retired as an Electrician's Mate, Senior Chief, while at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in New Hampshire, on June 30, 1980.

While on leave in New York City, he met his future bride, Georgia Molter, and following a four-year courtship, they were married. As a couple, Ed and Georgia chose to be baptized as members of the Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter Day Saints. Until his passing, Ed was a devoted member and servant of the Savior. After settling back in California in the city of Concord, the family finally moved to Suisun City, where he was a citizen for 29 years.

Following his retirement from service, Ed worked for Pacific Steel Casting of Berkeley, and later the Nextel-Sprint Corporation. During his later years, Ed spent most of his time traveling with his bride, playing with his grandchildren, and serving the members of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, Fairfield First Ward.

Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Velma, and his father, Floyd. He is survived by his wife, Georgia; his four daughters, Barbara (Michael) Bloxsom, Cheryl Herod, Elizabeth (Adam) Wight, and Tricia (David) Tegan. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Melissa (Trevor) Pascal, Aimee, Emma, Russell, Jacob, and Roxanne Bloxsom, Robert and Katherine Hanson, Aaron, Amanda, and Thomas Tegan; and Bradyn Wight, as well as great-grandchildren, Cadence and Aurora Pascal.

Although Ed has passed, the lessons of his life endure among his family '97 lessons of integrity, family, and faith. Ed lived his life devoted to his Lord, a never-tiring servant of his wife, children, and grandchildren, and faced his passing with courage and the assurance that he would soon walk with his Savior. Ed has gone home.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 15, at the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints, Travis Boulevard Chapel in Fairfield. Ed's body will be interned at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Midway Road, in Dixon. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Fairfield Funeral Home, 1750 Pennsylvania Avenue, 425-1041
