    • From FindaGrave:

"Freddie" was born in Brockton to Frederick W. Wormelle and Edith Emily Dalton in 1916.

He graduated from Brockton High School in 1934. In his teens he taught sailing at Point Independence Yacht Club in Onset, MA, where he met his "later-to-be" wife, when hired by her father for private sailing lessons...when they were both 15 years old.

He and his wife moved to Falmouth and purchased Hoyt's Boatyard renaming it Falmouth Marine Railways. The yard soon became well-known in the boating industry for its custom yacht restorations and repairs. The yacht brokerage division represented Pacemaker and Matthews lines.

They built the Flying Bridge Restaurant on Falmouth Harbor in 1958 and enlarged it in 1962. They two businesses were a popular destination for boaters all along the East Coast.

He was a member of the Marine Lodge AF&AM in Falmouth. A former town meeting member and founding member of the waterways committee. He also served on the finance committee. Served on the board of two banks and was founding member of Falmouth Yacht Club.

In his retirement he was an active tennis player and volunteered at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
