  From FindaGrave: Inscription: JOHN HALL Captain of the Militia in ?? Helen. Killed in an invasion by the British July 6, 1777 in the 55th year of his age. John Hall was born 27 May 1723 Died 6 Aug 1777 (as a result of the wounds he suffered on 6 Jul 1777). Killed at the battle of Hubbardton VT. He was one of 12 American officers killed along with 312 American soldiers. The British lost 20 officers and 183 soldiers.
