      Son of Colonel Hopestill Hall and Sarah Baker.

      According to Rev. Abner Morse, Abel and his wife, Deborah, had five children. Only four of their children are known by name. The other child probably was their first, born circa 1819, though there is no known document that proves the birth order of the unknown child, or even that the child actually existed (except Rev. Morse's account).
