  	From Diane Morgan, May 2013: "Zillah died in Gloucester. She was at the Addison Gilbert Hospital. I was only 8 at the time, and my parents got us a house sitter and went back there. Zillah owned her mother's house in Pigeon Cove, as well as maintaining an apartment in New York and Athens. The only reason I know anything is that I have been sorting through all her papers, along with my Aunts, and all the bills are here. I have all the telegrams and letters of sorrow to my grandfather. All of this is in a folder marked Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The Burgess Funeral Home in Rockport was paid $897. Her parents paid for a lot, #1/2 208 belonging to the heirs of Mrs. John C. Pierce. Her parents are both there John C. Pierce and Emma Ellsworth Pierce, and I believe Zillah is with them. She had two brothers who died as children.

She married William Bell Dinsmoor in 1909 and immediately after their marriage she followed him to Greece. She gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Frances Athenais Dinsmoor, in Athens in 1919. William Jr. was born in 1923 in New York. Zillah during their long stays in Athens worked as assistant to the School Library and helped enormously Dinsmoor with typing all his papers. Zillah had a very sociable life in Athens. She befriended many well known Athenian ladies of the time. Her active participation in School's life is vividly depicted in her correspondence with her mother Emma Pierce. Zillah devotedly followed her husband to all his endeavours, trips, fellowships and congresses. She died of a stroke on September 28, 1960 having just had her 50th wedding anniversary and passed by one day her 74th birthday, in Rockport, Mass. The small collection of her correspondence and diaries reveal a great deal about life in Athens and the School during the early part of the twentieth century."
