  Massachusetts and Maine Families in the Ancestry of Walter Goodwin Davis. Vol. II. Gardner-Moses Hall, of Marshfield, p. 132 ff By second wife, the first seven born in Marshfield: v.   LEMUEL, b. July 15, 1747; m. (1) in Georgetown Aug. 25, 1772, Jean Dam; m. (2) in Brunswick July, 1796, Molly Gatchell. Jean Hall was called "Jennett" in the birth records of her children. James Bowdoin of Boston, Esq., sold 140 acres in West Bowdoinham to Lemuel Hall of that place Dec. 25, 1781. [Lincoln Deeds, 33: 235.] John Hall was appointed administrator of the estate of Lemuel Hall late of Bowdoin, deceased, Sept. 14, 1797, the widow Mary Hall having declined. His sureties were John Merrill of Topsham and Samuel Dunlap of Brunswick. An inventory of $2002 was entered Oct. 5, 1797. [Lincoln Probate. VIII: 18-19.] Children, born in Bowdoin, by first wife: 1.  John, b. Aug. 14, 1775; m. (1) Rachel ---- who d. in Bowdoin Feb. 8, 1803; m. (2) Jane ----. In 1821 he moved to Calais with his family. Children born in Bowdoin, by first wife, 1800-1801: Sally, Ephraim. By second wife, 1805-1819: Rachel, Mercy, James Sullivan, Jane, Amelia, Dennis McCobb, John J., James M. The short historical sketch of Calais adds Mary, Jacob V., Lucinda and Velona, calls Dennis Dana and James M. James Madison. 2.  Jennett, b. Jan 9, 177--; m. June 20, 1803, Thomas Hewy of Lisbon. 3.  Mary, b. June 25, 1780. 4.  Katherine, b. May 28, 1783. 5.  Lemuel, b. May 10, 1785; m. Feb 7, 1813, Martha Brown of Brunswick who d. in Topsham Dec. 11, 1861, aged 69; d. in Topsham Oct. 25, 1860, aged 74. Children born in Lisbon 1814-1818: Mary, Charles, Elizabeth Woodward. 6.  Deborah, b. Jan. 9, 1788. By second wife: 7.  Joseph b. Aug. 8, 1797; m. April 15, 1817, Mary W. Toothaker of Harpswell; living in Bowdoinham with wife Mary and children Mary Jane, John, Joseph, Martin, Jeremiah, Eliza, George, Sarah, William and Lemuel in 1850; d. Nov. 26, 1886, aged 90. He was a captain in the militia and post-master of Bowdoinham.
